Welcome to the HohnsteinOase – your spacious home in the middle of Saxon Switzerland. At around 100 m², the holiday apartment offers plenty of space for up to 8 guests and is ideal for families, couples of friends, small groups and hiking holidays together.

You can expect three separate bedrooms, so that there is enough space and retreat options even if there are several guests. Fresh bed linen and towels will of course be available upon your arrival. In the cozy living area you can relax together after an eventful day, watch TV or end the evening in peace. Free WiFi is available throughout your stay.

The fully equipped kitchen offers everything you need for self-catering. At the large dining table there is enough space for meals together, a hearty breakfast or planning the next hike. Some kitchen basics are also available for you so that you can arrive relaxed. A special highlight of the HohnsteinOase is your private infrared cabin right in the apartment. Especially after a long hike through Saxon Switzerland, you can relax here wonderfully and end the day.

The apartment is also ideal for longer stays: a washing machine is available directly in the accommodation. Families with small children are also welcome. Dogs are very welcome here, so you can enjoy your holiday in Saxon Switzerland together with your four-legged friend. The numerous hiking trails and the nature around Hohnstein offer ideal conditions for this. Also ideal for cyclists 🚲 If you want to explore the region by bike or e-bike, you can park your bikes safely and securely in the red shed right next to the house. There they will stay dry and protected from wind and weather during your stay - a big advantage for cycling holidaymakers.

A parking space on site is also available. Check-in is flexible and contactless, so you can arrive independently.

Are you traveling with a larger group? If you would like to travel with more people or two families or a larger group would like to vacation together, there is our additional accommodation “HohnsteinPanorama” directly in the same house on the 1st floor.

This means you can use two separate holiday apartments, but are still all in the same house. Access to the holiday apartment is flexible and contactless via a key box. You will receive the code in a separate link two days before your arrival. The holiday apartment is on the ground floor of an apartment building.

HohnsteinOase, located at Dresdner Straße 9, is situated in the small castle town of Hohnstein—nestled within the striking landscape of Saxon Switzerland and perfectly suited for those looking to combine nature, hiking, and sightseeing.

The town’s landmark, Hohnstein Castle, towers above the Polenz Valley, offering magnificent views of the rocky terrain of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. The castle grounds are open to visitors and make for a wonderful destination for families and culture enthusiasts alike. Numerous hiking trails begin right around Hohnstein; highlights include the romantic Polenz Valley, the Schindergraben gorge, and the Brand viewpoint—often referred to as the "balcony of Saxon Switzerland." In the spring, the meadows filled with spring snowflakes (*Märzenbecher*) in the Polenz Valley offer a truly special natural spectacle.

The famous Bastei rock formation and the Bastei Bridge are also easily accessible from Hohnstein. In fact, an official hiking trail leads directly from Hohnstein, passing by the Brand viewpoint and the village of Rathen, all the way to the Bastei.

Furthermore, Hohnstein lies along the renowned "Malerweg" (Painters' Way) trail, making it an ideal base for hiking holidays. Other popular destinations in Saxon Switzerland—such as Rathen, Königstein, Lilienstein, and the Schrammsteine ​​rock formations—are all within easy reach.
